A bundle of emotion and athleticism

The front section is dominated by the high-gloss black radiator grille emblazoned with the RS logo, and the car’s sportiness is underlined by the RS-specific body-colour front bumper with black diffuser. Standard-fit second-generation LED Matrix beam headlights with a Crystallinium design give the Octavia RS its modern look. Plus, the dynamic design is graced with high-gloss black window trim and wing mirror covers. The Octavia RS’s look wouldn’t be complete without its unique up to 19” wheels and red brake callipers.

Dynamic from all angles

The Octavia RS’s sporty genes really come to the fore at the back of the car, which is dominated by the RS-specific rear bumper, black glossy lettering on the tailgate, and standard-fit LED rear lights with animated turn indicators and the animated Coming/Leaving Home function. In typical RS style, the rear valance features a red reflector strip stretching across the entire width of the vehicle, complemented by a sports exhaust with black visible tailpipes. The rear side windows and the rear window are tinted.

Surround yourself with state-of-the-art technology

One of the Octavia RS’s special features is its RS-badged three-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel. All key information is always in your sights thanks to the standard 10” Virtual Cockpit, which comes with several layouts. An optional feature is the head-up display, which projects your current speed, navigation instructions, and other information onto the windscreen. The icing on the cake is the 13" Navigation infotainment system, which really makes you in tune with your car.

An interior begging to be taken for a ride

The spacious interior combines elegance with a sporty style. The main characteristics of the standard equipment include sports seats with the RS logo, red stitching, LED ambient lighting, a black headliner, and a dashboard featuring neoprene or Suedia microfibre and a Carbon-design strip. The interior’s sporty impression is rounded off by stainless steel pedals.

Seats that hug you around every curve

The Octavia RS comes standard with RS Suedia trim that indulges the car’s occupants with Suedia-covered ergonomic front sports seats. These are electrically adjustable, include electrically adjustable lumbar supports with massage and memory function, and allow for the depth of the seat base to be adjusted.

Most powerful Octavia ever

The Octavia RS features a top-of-the-range four-cylinder 195 kW petrol engine, which is always mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. It also features a sports-tuned exhaust, which not only removes exhaust fumes more efficiently, thereby boosting performance, but also adds a unique sporty feel to the ride.

The joy of every bend

Škoda’s engineers have gone to great lengths to ensure that you find the Octavia RS just as fun when you drive round bends. The specific sports chassis features rigid suspension with shorter springs, specific sporty shock absorbers and a ride height 15 mm lower. The standard-fit reinforced brakes and multilink suspension on the rear axle deliver excellent handling characteristics and high driving comfort.

Progressive steering

The Octavia RS is fitted with progressive steering to provide better handling and agility in curves. The progressive steering changes the ratio depending on how far the wheel is turned so that you don’t have to keep shuffling your hands round the steering wheel. This makes it easier to manoeuvre on twisty roads, in city traffic or when parking.

DSG automatic transmission

The Octavia RS is fitted with 7-speed automatic transmission. You can switch from standard smooth shifting to the S (Sport) mode, which will wring the maximum from your Octavia RS.

Travel Assist

Travel Assist integrates several systems and functions, which we present separately on the following pages. When they are interconnected, the car can make driving a lot easier and increase travelling comfort. Once activated, Travel Assist can automatically stop and restart, keep the car in lane, follow other vehicles in a traffic jam, or show the surrounding traffic on a display in front of you.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Traffic Jam Assist

The Adaptive Cruise Control’s keeps track of the traffic ahead and adjusts speed keeping you at a safe distance from the car ahead.

Adaptive Lane Assist

This system works in conjunction with a camera to recognise lane markings on the road, including yellow lines during roadworks, traffic cones, and other roadside or lane borders. The Adaptive Lane Assist intervenes in an attempt to keep the vehicle in the selected track within the traffic lane, and the car does not “weave”.

Emergency Assist

Emergency Assist reduces risk of an incident if the driver is not feeling well. If Adaptive Lane Assist detects that the driver does not have hands on the steering wheel even after a warning alert, Emergency Assist is activated, decelerates the car to halt while keeping it in lane and activating the hazard warning lights, the horn and the interior lights are then automatically activated.

Intelligent Park Assist

Intelligent Park Assist helps the driver to park the vehicle in a line of parallel-parked or a row of perpendicular-parked vehicles, and also to exit from a line of parallel-parked vehicles. The system controls the steering wheel, the brakes, the accelerator, and the direction of travel (forwards and backwards). It also detects objects and pedestrians and avoids collisions with them.

Park Distance Control with Manoeuvre Assist

The Park Distance Control warns of the potential risk of colliding with obstacles during parking by drawing data from the sensors, the driving parameters, and the steering wheel angle. To avoid those parking situations where you don’t brake in time in response to the distance alerts, the Octavia RS incorporates Manoeuvre Assist, a feature that stops the car to avoid collision.

Automated Emergency Braking

This system prevents a collision with a person when reversing by analysing the area behind the car using the rear-view camera image and braking the car if a human figure is detected at a risky distance.

Rear-view camera

Providing you with comfort and orientation during a parking procedure, the rear-view camera uses a camera located on the tailgate handle. Working with the infotainment screen, the system shows the space behind the car and indicates dynamic guide lines, based on the vehicle width.

Front Assist with Collision Avoidance Assist

The Front Assist is a collision-alert safety system. Faced with an unavoidable collision, it applies the brakes to minimise the consequences. It also performs an emergency stop if a pedestrian or cyclist attempts to cross the path of the car. The system also registers pedestrians and cyclists travelling in the same direction as the car and, in relation to these road users, uses the same warning and braking process as that applied to vehicles ahead. In a critical situation, where Front Assist intervenes by braking and the driver indicates they are taking evasive action by the way they move the steering wheel, Collision Avoidance Assist makes targeted interventions in the steering to help drive around the obstacle.

Turn Assist

Turn Assist, supplied as part of Front Assist, is designed to monitor an oncoming vehicle when you are turning right (in a right-hand drive), for example when you are at a junction. If there is an immediate danger, it brings the vehicle to a complete standstill and triggers the warning signal.

Side Assist

Thanks to radar sensors at the rear of the car, the Side Assist detects vehicles approaching from behind or that are in the car’s blind spot. The driver is informed of this using an LED signal on the inside of the wing mirror housings. Side Assist can detect vehicles up to 70 m away and thus also effectively warns the driver of hazardous situations on motorways and dual carriageways.

Exit Warning

This safety feature is another of Side Assist’s complementary functions. Exit Warning visually and acoustically warns the driver and other passengers, when, for example, they are exiting parallel parked car, if opening the door could result in a collision with another vehicle, a cyclist, an electric scooter or a jogger. Exit Warning makes use of Side Assist’s rear radars and monitors area behind and along the sides of the car up to a distance of 35 m.

Crew Protect Assist

The system pre-tensions the front seat belts in the event of imminent collision or in unstable driving situations when the ESC engaged and closes the side windows almost fully in order to prevent foreign objects from entering the vehicle. The system works with the front and rear radars.

Multi-Collision Brake

If an Octavia RS is involved in an accident and the airbags are activated, it could remain in motion and cause another accident, which is where the Multi-Collision Brake comes in, bringing the vehicle to a standstill to prevent a pile-up.

Attention and Drowsiness Assist

This system monitors drivers’ behaviour and assesses how tired they are using inputs from various vehicle control units. At speeds above 65 km/h, the system detects deviations from normal driving and continuously assesses drivers’ driving behaviour in order to judge their current fitness to drive. If the system detects driver fatigue, a warning tone sounds and a warning message is also displayed in Virtual Cockpit.

LED Matrix beam headlights

The headlights of the Škoda Octavia RS use LEDs for all of their functions. LED technologies’ many upsides include their longer life and the fact that they are less of a drain on power. Their modules are complemented by Crystallinium – this brand-new special feature evoking coloured crystalline glass brings a new flair of turquoise colour to the headlight. LED Matrix beam headlights includes LED all-weather lights with corner function. On top of that, they feature a side light and the cutting-edge Matrix function.

Matrix function

Using a multifunction camera that detects light sources from oncoming vehicles, the Matrix function of the LED Matrix beam headlights masks out the light distribution around other vehicles or traffic signs in real time with 36 individually switchable LED chips in each headlight. This results in a perfectly illuminated road ahead and greater safety.

LED rear lights with animated indicators

The LED Matrix beam headlights are complemented by the very best LED rear lights with animated direction indicators and welcome effect, incorporating diodes for every function.

The RS badge on the radiator grille and the RS‑specific front bumper sharpen the Octavia RS’s aggressive look.

Ice scraper with tyre tread depth gauge

A great Simply Clever detail, handy when the first frost descends. Now you don’t have to ransack your car in search of a scraper or resort to your credit card. The ice scraper located on the fuel filler flap, now made of recycled plastic, will be ready and waiting whenever you need it. Tyre tread depth gauges, with lines spaced 2 mm apart, are incorporated in both lower corners of the scraper. This makes it easy to check the condition of a tyre and to find out in good time when it no longer complies with statutory regulations.

Integrated funnel

You can also find Simply Clever solutions under the bonnet. The Octavia features a cleverly designed rubber lid for the washer fluid tank. It opens into a practical funnel so you can easily top up the fluid without making a mess.

Mobile phone pockets

The pockets on the rear side of the front‑seat backrests are great for storage. But they are a little too big for a small smartphone. The Octavia resolves this with an additional little pocket that is perfect for rear passengers’ phones.

Umbrella compartment

The Škoda Octavia has a compartment in both front doors, including an umbrella in the driver’s door, in case you get caught in the rain. An umbrella is also available as an accessories for the second compartment.

Virtual Cockpit

A perfect overview is provided by the freely programmable Virtual Cockpit, which offers a choice of several display layouts. On‑board instrument data along with other information, such as navigation, media playback and phone, are displayed on a beautiful 10" screen.

Electric tailgate with Virtual Pedal

As standard in the Octavia RS, the tailgate can be optionally operated by pressing a button from the driver’s seat, with the remote‑controlled key, or by pressing a button on the tailgate. The electric tailgate comes with Virtual Pedal, an additional function for touchless tailgate opening/closing.

USB-C in the rear-view mirror

If you use a dash cam to record the traffic in front of you, you will appreciate the additional USB‑C connector by the rear‑view mirror. This means you will have a power source right by the camera and you will avoid those long cables all over the place.

Keyless Entry (RS)

You no longer need to be holding your key in order to open and lock your car. The advanced Keyless Entry function automatically unlocks the Octavia when you approach it with the key and automatically locks it when you move away from the car. It’s that simple.

Heated steering wheel

On request, the Octavia can be equipped with a heated steering wheel, a godsend in the winter, especially when your hands are frozen from scraping the ice off the windows. Although, the heated windscreen means that’s actually another job less to do. And if you’re still cold, the heated front and rear seats will keep you toasty.

Armrest with two cup holders

The rear folding armrest not only makes travelling comfortable, but also incorporates a holder for two 0.5‑litre bottles, where backseat passengers can conveniently put their drinks.

Button-operated folding of rear backrest

This practical touch makes it easy to fold down the rear seat backrests at the touch of a button directly from the luggage compartment. So you no longer have to walk all the way around the car whenever you need to pack a bigger load into the Octavia.

Cargo elements

In the typical Škoda style, the Octavia’s boot offers hugely practical features. Items can be secured in the boot using cargo fasteners. Just slide your boxes or shopping bags, for example, between the fasteners and they will no longer slide around. The cargo fasteners can be folded away and stored at the side of the boot or under the variable boot floor.

Hooks in the boot

The great variability and use of the Octavia’s boot also benefits from two sturdy hooks on the sides. They are designed to hang items or baggage which would otherwise be unstable or would not fit on the boot floor.

Double-sided boot liner

On one side, there’s a practical and easily washable surface, on the other, elegant textile carpeting. The mat can simply be turned over to provide a surface suited to the load.

Boot nets

Thanks to the cleverly designed network of meshing, hooks and shelves in the boot, there is no need to compromise between agility and practicality. The boot nets with securing hooks prevent smaller items from moving around.
